Welcome to “A Day in the Life” blog series. Each week, we’ll interview one of our team members to learn about their experiences at Code42 to give you an inside look into different roles within our company.
Introducing Reed Barganier, a Sales Account Executive at Code42 who is focused on Mid-Market companies (500-2500 employees). Life outside of Code42 includes spending time with family, going to the ballpark, cooking and keeping up with Auburn athletics (even though it doesn’t work out well for him most of the time). Fun Fact: Reed has run over 1,000 miles this year.
What do you enjoy most about working at Code42?
This may be an odd answer, but I enjoy the chaos as a result of growth. My days are now spent prioritizing, rather than looking for opportunities. That’s a good problem to have.
What excites you most about your work?
Our product – Incydr, a SaaS Insider Risk Management product – is such a conversational product. It doesn’t take three meetings and seven demos to advance the discussion – rarely does it even take a demo. People understand data challenges and know that people take data because they’ve probably done it themselves. Our product solves a real problem and that generates a lot of excitement. Our team closes deals all the time. You see the growth. That’s fun to be in the middle of.
How has Code42 enabled you to maintain a sense of connection, while working from home?
I see my selling team all the time at customer events and get-togethers, which is great. Also, the sense of community within a relatively large organization is fantastic. For instance, there are people that I interact with weekly because of our shared love for cooking, and ONLY our love of cooking. We have no on-the-job overlap, but I know what goes on in their kitchens. That makes this place seem much smaller because of the connections we have outside of the day-to-day.
What personal goals do you have that Code42 can help you achieve?
At this stage of life, my personal goals all revolve around my family. Am I able to coach the 6 year old’s basketball games? Can I drive carpool this week? Am I available to keep the sick baby if my wife is at work? Yup. These examples may seem immaterial or minor on a case by case basis, but how you do anything is how you do everything. I need to be there for the little things as much as I do the big things. I need to be there for my family and Code42 encourages me to be. Across the board.
Why do you believe in the Code42 brand?
The people and the software. You need both, and both are here. We are fast-paced out of necessity, and people are excited about the pace! I’ve worked at successful growth software companies and know what they look like. This is it.
Tell us the most talked about challenge when it comes to Insider Risk and the solution it delivers.
It’s a really basic question without any easy answers. What are people taking when they leave their jobs? That opens the door. You KNOW people are taking things; why don’t you know what they are taking? We make answering that question really easy. That’s a compelling story.
We look for authentic people who are inquisitive, enjoy solving complex problems, think creatively and provide diverse insights to help us thrive together. Don’t wait. #BeCode42. See open positions.
